A Nordic strategy board game that gained fame during the Medieval period. Within Nordic culture, it was akin to chess. The game features variations that diverge in: – board dimensions: 7, 9, 11, 13 – winning criteria: position the king at the edge or corner of the board. – king encirclement requirements: from two or four directions. – quantity of attacking (black) and defending (white) pieces.
